Cystic Pimple – What Causes Cystic Pimples?

Inflammatory acne consists of subcutaneous cystic pimple breakouts. These are pimples that don’t come to a head, but stay as hard bumps just underneath the skin. They are often very painful and can lead to scarring and infection.

As painful as inflammatory acne is, it can be even more unsightly. It usually consists of groups of pimples that spread. Bacteria just under the skin can spread very rapidly if you push on or poke the acne.

To keep inflammatory acne at bay, drink a lot of water. It’s certainly not a cure-all, but a hydrated body has fewer toxins and will be less prone to continual infection.

If you have a sudden outbreak of inflammatory acne or a cystic pimple breakout, evaluate what may have changed in your home. Have you recently changed skin care products?

What about laundry detergents (if it’s a case on your body rather than your face)? Do you have new sheets that haven’t been washed yet? Any of these things may be introducing factors that irritate your skin and encourage the blockage that cause the cysts.

So what causes cystic acne? No one knows for sure, although genetics seem to play a part. Cystic acne can also appear during and just after puberty, which may indicated that it’s also related to hormonal change.

Most acne has been linked to testosterone, and inflammatory acne is probably no different. Some medications have acne as a possible side effect, so if you have recently changed your medical regimen, that’s worth examining, too.

A fabulous natural product that has shown great results with inflammatory acne is Acnezine. Acnezine is a gelatin capsule containing Vitamins C & E, Collagen Hydrolyzed, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Ubidecarenone Co-Enzyme Q-10, and other natural ingredients.

Its proprietary blend has been known to improve severe cases of cystic acne within a few days. In addition, it helps control free radicals, which in turn controls wrinkling and other signs of aging.

If none of these treatments give you the results you’re looking for after several weeks, be sure to consult with a dermatologist about your cystic pimples, so there’s less chance of spreading infection.

My 31 year old daugter has what I think may be cyctic acne. The bumps under her skin never erupt. They are unsightly. I approached the subject as gently as possble with her, asking her to see a dermatologist, but she said nothing could be done. I think she saw a doctor once and was offered a drug that she felt was too risky for the severity of the disease. I did not mention to her another concern I have. She bathes daily and washes her hair daily but, frankly, her sheets and occasionally her clothing smell. Her shirts have brown stains under the arms although she uses deodorant. Is it possible that she has some endocrine problem? If you can give me any reason to do so, I will ask her to see a endochronologist. But the subject is too emotional to risk mentioning if there is no likelihood there is a connection.

    Hello Mrs. Virginia,
There is no “cure”, but there is definitely something that your daughter’s dermatologist can do. I occasionally get cystic acne (on my chin only- have two right now). The dermatologist can shoot the bumps with a medication that can shrink them. They usually go away n 4-5 days after the shot. Depending on the severity of your daughter’s acne, she may need to get tested for hormonal imbalances. Cystic acne in women in general is a flag for a hormone issue. Also, acne below the nose (around the mouth and chin area) is also an indicator that a hormonal conern may be present. I had tests run, and I was OK; however, this is my second span of cystic acne in less than 5 months. I’m getting my hormones rechecked. I (and your daughter) may have to take birth control to regulate hormones. Wish u well.

i used to horrible cyctic acne growing up, but it has since tamed down because I use the Shielo Complexion Moisturizer. I do not even get breakouts – you really should try it.

this product stops them and the price is great, considering it actually works.

    highly recommended.
